Cascadia Mud-City Stomp: A Spring Hoedown!

Mud City is co-hosting a fun, inclusive & accessible event with our fierce nature protectors, Cascadia Wildlands. Come & learn about Cascadia & other vital nonprofits making our community a better place for humans & nonhumans, alike. Seed swap, food trucks, games, plant sale, wine, beer & NA drinks, and of course a gender-free community square dance!
Tunes will be provided by the Humbug Mountain Stringband with Melissa Takush calling. Old-time community square dancing is taught by the caller, so you don’t need any experience, special clothing or even a partner. This event is for all ages and abilities, and features gender-free calls. We can’t wait to see you there!
- Friday, April 25th
- At the Farmers Market Pavilion
- 85 E 8th in Eugene
- Event 7-10 pm, dance 8-9:30pm
This is a $10-$50 sliding scale event to help raise money for Cascadia Wildlands conservation efforts and to have a whole lot of fun with all of YOU! (NOTAFLOF)
How can YOU help?
We could use your help putting up some posters for the event this weekend and next. Each route can be done on your own schedule and usually takes just about 1.5 hrs. We also need a few folks to staff the merch table while from 7-9:30. Shoot us an email at mudcityoldtimesociety@gmail.com if you can help!
Cascadia is also looking for a few volunteers at the event. Reach out to them here. You can also help by spreading the word and bringing some friends and family!
If you can’t make this one but appreciate these community events, please make a donation here. Every little bit helps us to support the bands, callers and our mission:
Mud City Old-Time Society is an all-volunteer arts organization which educates, promotes, and encourages traditional old-time music and dance opportunities in the South-Central Willamette Valley of Oregon. We encourage the honest simplicity of making your own music and exposing new generations to the inclusive power of traditional music and dance.
You can also help by spreading the word and bringing some friends and family! We can’t wait to see you there!
Come get down at the hoedown!
